9th District Pension Plan
The contractor will pay $3.80 for every hour worked each month into this fund. It is an immediate vesting. It will earn an interest. This account is handled through the Ninth District Pension Office (P.O. Box 1509 * Portland, OR 97207-1509). For more information you can contact them at 1-800-804-2385. Beneficiary will receive balance in fund after death (a death certificate must be provided). Contact the 9th District Pension Office for further instructions.
I.B.E.W. #191 Money Purchase Plan
The contractor will pay $2.00 for every hour worked each month into the Money Purchase Fund. It is an immediate vesting. It will earn an interest. After contributions of one year, you are able to borrow up to half of what you have in that fund and pay yourself back. Also if you leave the trade, you can withdraw these monies after a one-year waiting period. This account is handled through Benefit Solutions, Inc.(3400-188th St. SW, Suite #601 * Lynnwood, WA 98037). For more information you can contact them at 1-800-203-0544. Beneficiary will receive balance in fund after death. Active members have a death benefit of $25,000.00 and $50,000.00 if accidental (a death certificate must be provided). N.E.B.F. (National Electrical Benefit Fund)
The contractor will pay 3% of the gross wages every month to this fund. It is a five-year vesting pension, the hours begin the first day on the jobsite. Regular retirement is at age 62 and currently pays $32.00 per year service per month. Retirement at age 62 with an 18% reduction, age 61 with a 9% reduction for every year before age 65. Spouse Option: The member would receive approximately 50% and spouse would receive the balance upon death of the member (a death certificate must be provided). No death benefit. International Office Pension
After your date obligated into the Union, you will pay $29.00 per month for Basic Union Dues. Part of these dues will be sent to Washington, D.C. to pay for your pension and death benefit. $10.00 is contributed to your pension. This is a 20-year vesting program, vesting beings after the first dues payment, (if obligated at a older age – vesting will apply at 65 years of age (refer to the Constitution)). Early retirement is at age 62 with a 6-3/4% reduction for every year prior to age 65. Regular retirement at age 65 will collect (at this time) $4.50 per year service per month. You can contact this office at: 1125-15th St. N.W./Washington, D.C. 20005. Active members have a $6,250.00 death benefit, $12,000.00 accidental and retired members have a $3,000.00 death benefit.
