Why Politics?

Brothers and Sisters:

Local 191 would like to welcome you to the political portion of our website. We hope you find this informative and educational as you review all the information forthcoming. Just like any decision in life it is important for our members to have all the information before they make a important decision in the political process.

When Local 191 makes a political endorsement it is based on one issue and that is “labor’. What candidate, law or initiative is going to help our members 100% of the time regarding family wage jobs. This local has supported both parties and will continue to do so regarding labor issues. All of us have important opinions on several wedge issues but local 191 refuses to get involved in those issues.

Our industry is directly reflected on the political mood of our local and federal government. That is why it is very important for our members to be politically active and help support labor candidates and issues when called upon. Thank you to all of our members that have taken part in political activities in the past and to those are going to be involved in the future. Remember our Union is only as strong as you make it.

Enjoy the website.

Fraternally yours,

Travis Patterson
Business Representative
