Grievance Procedure

Everyone has the same choice if they are treated unfairly. You can quit. But union workers have something better. It's called a grievance procedure and it's part of every IBEW contract.

Have you ever...
Been shorted on your checks?
Had to buy your own tools?
Been promised a raise but didn't get it?

Have you ever been told you must...
Work late for free?
Carry company tools in your car?
Work swing shift for day shift wages?
Skip Friday but work Saturday?
Skip lunch?

The Four Steps Of Justice:

A Union representative will meet with an Employer representative to resolve the grievance within 48 hours from the time it is reported. If an agreement is not reached, then...
Your IBEW Business Manager and a NECA Chapter Manager will meet to resolve the grievance within five days of step one. If an agreement is not reached, then...
Three electricians selected by the Union and three contractors selected by NECA will resolve the grievance within five days of step two. If an aggreement is not reached, then...
One representative from each side of the Labor/Management Commitee will meet with a mutually agreed upon professional arbitrator and will present their case within five days of step three. The arbitrator's decision shall be final and binding.
